Generic Turnitin Self Check Option

NOTE:  if you have used the Generic Course upload option and forgotten your password - DO NOT CREATE A NEW ACCOUNT!  Request a password reminder from the Turnitin system.  Creating a new account results in multiple accounts for one person and NNU exceeding its number of users.  THANK YOU!

Plagiarism Check Tool

Usually your Canvas course will have Turnitin enabled as part of the process of turning in your assignment.

Any time you want to upload a paper to get a report you can also use the GENERIC COURSE UPLOAD OPTION which has been set up by the CASA (Center for Academic Success & Advising) and the Riley Library librarians.

For the GENERIC COURSE UPLOAD OPTION  Download the PDF document below which includes the Course ID number, password, and step by step instructions.  If you have questions contact Prof. LaRita Schandorff, librarian, at 467-8606 or

NOTE:  The settings for the Generic Course have been set so that your paper will NOT be added to the Turnitin repository when using this option.  Therefore, when you resubmit your paper to your actual course you need not worry your final assignment will generate a 100% originality report because of your previous submission to the Generic Course.
