Automatic Bib Generator Tools

Listed here are free websites that offer templates to help you cite your sources.  They are quite handy, but we recommend you refer to your style manuals FIRST and become familiar with the mechanics and elements before using these tools.

Our advice....

  • Use the same tool to cite all of your sources.   Tools vary in their interpretation of the guidelines.

  • Does the tool use the latest edition of the Manual?   If you can't tell, don't use it.

  • Check your results.  Remember that YOU are ultimately responsible for citing your sources properly. Always review your bibliography before turning in your paper and check it against one of the official style manuals, if you are in doubt.
