Nursing: Citing Micromedex

Consider this your personal library where you will find everything you need to help you complete your course of study.

Examples for citing Micromedex

There is no clear example for this type of resource in the APA 6th edition, so the library is recommending the examples and guidelines here which have been adapted from the College of Dupage*.  Since our edition of Micromedex is the Academic edition and not the one provided in the public clinical setting and since it is not a website, but a database, we recommend you not include the URL, but just the name of the database and the institution providing access.

When you have used Micromedex the first thing to consider is which tool was used.  Micromedex is a collection of tools which provide various types of information including definitions, patient care information sheets, and drug interaction information.

Did you use Micromedex to look up the name of a drug?

Name of drug (commercial name) tablets. (Year, month). In Name of the tool or tab used for search. [Electronic version].

EXAMPLE:

Did you use Micromedex to check for drug interactions?
